LCT Recollections

Well, went on a fun trip. Did an 8 hour drive to the Northern California coast on Thursday night. Friday and Saturday spent doing an out and back along the Lost Coast Trail. The road was blocked to shelter cove so we did a hard camp in a former campground in Honeydew. Met a raucous group of locals who couldn’t get home on account of the blocked road. Apparently a local, Alex, had ordered something that ended up getting sent on a large truck and trailer.

LCT Planning

Managed to pull a couple last minute permits to the Kings Range Conservation area on the coast of Northern California. I was able to do a single night on the Lost Coast Trail back in January 2019. On that trip I would cross paths with a gentleman who is believed to have later been swept to sea during bad weather. (I was well off the trail at this point, I had been heading back to trailhead as the gentleman was starting his fated journey.
